Mark Whiting

Mark Harvey Whiting was born in Mankato MN on May 20th, 1955 to Bob and Darlene Whiting. He grew up in Winnebago MN and after graduating high school went on to Winona State University. From there he moved to the Mpls./St.Paul suburbs where he started his career in sales by managing Farmland Coops in New Brighton and Isanti. He spent the next 23 years in the city ending his time there as manager of Coon Rapids Chrysler. Mark enjoyed bass fishing, going to Gopher football games, traveling, and spending much time with his friends and family, who were priority in his heart. In 2004 Mark & Deb moved to Brainerd MN and he started Maximum Motorsports, where his customers were priority in business. He enjoyed helping people and hearing their stories. Mark was passionate about his faith and his sales counter doubled as his pulpit. He believed we were called to spread the word of God and he took every opportunity to start a discussion with anyone in question. He is going to be missed by so many who had the opportunity to meet him.

Mark is survived by his wife Deb, to whom he was a dedicated and loving husband for 47 years; his siblings Bob Whiting, Cheryl Hull and Kathy (Larry) Struck; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Sharon and Charlie Morgenstein; special aunts Esther Farm and Judy Goor; many nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends, and his fur baby Finn McCool.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at 2pm at the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Baxter, with a visitation beginning at 1pm.
