Marion Jones

Marion V. Jones, age 79, of Pine River, MN, died on Saturday, May 12, 2001, at her home on Arrowhead Lake. Services will be held on Tuesday, May 15, 2001 at 11:00 AM at the Crosslake Evangelical Free Church. Friends may call before the service, at the church, from 9:30 to 11:00. Services will also be held on Wednesday, May 16th, at 11:00 AM, at the Edgewater Baptist Church, 5501 Chicago Ave So., in Minneapolis. Friends may call 1 hour before the service at the church. Burial will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Richfield. Memorials are preferred to flowers. Arrangements are with the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Crosslake.
Marion Violet Jones was born on March 28, 1922, in Minneapolis, MN, to John E. and Jennie (Anderson) Harten. She grew up in Minneapolis and graduated from Minneapolis Roosevelt High School with the class of 1940. She went on to attend business school. On December 14, 1942, she was united in marriage to Owen Jones, Jr. in Minneapolis. They made their home in Minneapolis. They moved to Arrowhead Lake in 1986 where they have lived since. She was a member of the Crosslake Evangelical Free Church, the Free Church Women?s Ministries of Crosslake and the Edgewater Baptist Church in Minneapolis. Marion enjoyed gardening, camping and homemaking.

Marion is survived by her husband of 58 years, Owen; 1 daughter: Carol (Gerard) LeBlanc of Pine River; 3 sons: David (Carrie) Jones of Clearwater, MN, Dale (Jodie) Jones of Minneapolis and Duane (Sandra) Jones of Minneapolis; 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Her parents preceded her in death.
