Marcelle Armstrong

July 27, 1923 — March 11, 2018

Marcelle ‘Marcie' Ann Armstrong, age 94, of Pine River, MN, passed away peacefully in her sleep at the Edgewood Vista Senior Living in Brainerd, MN, on March 11, 2018. She was born in Waconia Township, MN, on July 27, 1923, the first of 9 children born to Philip and Frances (Beversdorf) Lindner.

Marcie was a resident of Pine River for over sixty years. Some of her many activities included the Council of Catholic Women; 25 of which were active years in The Magnificat. She enjoyed membership in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church where she loved coordinating music for the choir, funerals, weddings and was even known to sing a solo or two! On Friday, each week, you could find her at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home setting up for Mass. She was a member of the Waconia VFW Post 5462 for 72 years, serving as President in 1953.

One of Marcie's favorite things to do in the summer was to go to her rustic cabin in Canada. She was an avid fisherwoman who didn't hesitate to clean, cook and eat her catches. She loved to share stories of her adventures there. Her zest for life was evident.
When troubled she placed everything into God's hands as she was a lifetime practicing Catholic. It served her well as she is now in the presence of God.

Marcie was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Sandra Moore; husbands: Myron Kusske, Dr. Francis Armstrong and Carl Wiertz; brothers: Ralph, Raymond and Dennis Lindner; one sister, Ruth (Lindner) Scheuble. She is survived by three brothers: Earl (Jan), Kenneth (Denette), and Allen (Sharon) Linder; one sister, Dallas (Lindner) Sherwood; as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Friday, March 16, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 203 Second St., Pine River, MN, with luncheon to follow. Celebrant of the Mass is Father Mike Patullo and Prayers from her dear friend, Father Paul Fruth. Visitation 10 a.m. with Rosary at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at the Pine Ridge Cemetery, Pine River, MN, in the spring.
