Lyle F. Laske

May 10, 1937 — August 1, 2022

Baxter

After a long battle with cancer, Lyle Laske found peace Monday, August 1st, with his children at his side.

Lyle was born to Gustave and Florence Laske, and grew up with his three younger siblings helping out with the family run cheese factory in Seymour, WI.

After High School Lyle earned a Bachelor’s Degree at Wisconsin State University at Platteville, later receiving a Masters in Fine Arts from the University of Wisconsin Madison.

Lyle moved to Moorhead with Francine, his beloved wife of more than 56 years, where they raised their twins, Andrew and Letitia.  In Moorhead, Lyle enjoyed teaching and inspiring his students in Sculpture, Design and Art Appreciation for 30 years as a professor at Moorhead State University.

In retirement Lyle enjoyed time with Fran at their lake home with family, sharing his appreciation of art, traveling, and spending time outdoors. His love of nature led him to volunteer on projects to improve the natural habitat of the lake and lake shore with a passion for the loon nesting program.

Lyle is survived by, daughter Letitia Laske, son Andrew Laske (Brigid), granddaughter Katherine Laske, brother Terry Laske and sister Janet Hess (George) and preceded in death by his wife, Francine and sister Mardelle Fuhs (Darrel).
