Lois Marie Swenson

Lois Marie Swenson, 84, of Pequot Lakes, passed away on May 28, 2024. Funeral services will take place at 4pm on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at the Kline Funeral Home in Pequot Lakes. A visitation will take place one hour prior to services. Private family interment will take place at Our Savior’s Lutheran Cemetery in Pequot Lakes, MN.

Lois was born on April 20, 1940, to Eino Jacob and Mayme Elizabeth (Leinonen) Ruotsinoja in St. Cloud, Minnesota. After high school graduation, Lois attended Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter. She met Larry at Gustavus Adolphus college and they were married on May 18, 1962. Together they had three children. Lois was an elementary school teacher for forty plus years and enjoyed every minute of it; it was her passion. She also had many hobbies from collecting recipes, gardening, playing cards, sewing, reading, and cheering on the Minnesota Sport’s teams especially the Twins. No matter how busy, Lois always had time for her family, cooking the best meals and just enjoying each other’s company. In fact, Lois’ family never could remember their favorite meal she cooked for she never made it twice. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Lois is survived by her children Kersten Stonacek, Erik (Heidi) Swenson, Gretchen (Darin) Cardwell; grandchildren Adam Stonacek, Nathan (Olivia Angell) Stonacek, Noah (Kendra) Cardwell, Caleb (Amber Hausmann) Cardwell, McKenna Cardwell, Oliver Swenson, and Elsa Swenson; great granddaughter Baker Cardwell; and brother Lee Ruotsinoja. She is preceded in death by her parents, spouse Larry Swenson, siblings Marilyn Kiffmeyer and twin brother Lowell Ruotsinoja.
