Lester Barchus

Lester Barchus, age 85, of Pine River, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2014, at the Good Samaritan Society, Pine River. He was born to Loren and Mary Barchus on November 14, 1928, in Chaseley, ND. Lester was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the 82nd Airborne from 1948 to 1952.

Lester is survived by his wife, Betty; son, Calvin Barchus (Tricia); daughters: Sharen Fritchie, Dorothy Day (Rodney), Donna Cook (Dallas); 8 step children; brothers: Raymond Barchus, Doug Barchus (Linda); sisters: Helen Reeve, Lorrayne Reeve, Anna Mae Rickart, Ona Anderson (Ronnie), Lura Lauer (Lyle); many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ellowene, and brother, Calvin.

Services will be 1 PM on Wednesday, January 22, at Kline Funeral Home, Pine River. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
