Leslie “Les” Ray McClelland was born on August 20, 1946, in Minneapolis and passed away peacefully on February 3, 2026, at the age of 79, following a courageous journey with early onset Alzheimer’s disease.
Les was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy E. (Frear) and Reginold E. McClelland.
He is lovingly survived by his wife, Dianne K. (Zeidler) McClelland; his children, Heather K. McClelland (Dr. Todd Gienapp) and Scott R. McClelland (Jocelyn); and his cherished grandchildren, Caroline and Lukas, Braedyn and Blaire. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Cherryl (Zeidler) Gilmer and Steve Gilmer; nieces and nephew Laura, Wendy (Jake Stewart), and Ryan Gilmer; and great-nephews Jackson, Bjorn, and Theodore Stewart.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 6190 Fairview Road in Baxter. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the service at 11:00 a.m., with lunch served at noon. Pastor Erika Nilsen will officiate.
Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Brenny Funeral Services. A private interment will take place at Delano Public Cemetery in Delano at a later date.
The family would like to extend special gratitude to Northern Lakes Senior Living, through Ebenezer, for their compassionate care. Memorials are preferred to Northern Lakes Senior Living General Fund (please note “for ice cream machine”), Lord of Life Lutheran Church, the Alzheimer’s Association, or Moments Hospice.
Les will be remembered for his love of family, the quiet strength he carried throughout his life, and the legacy of kindness and devotion he leaves behind. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
