Lawrence 'Larry' Shake

Lawrence (Larry) Shake, 61, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2026, at A Daughters Love Care Center in Staples, MN. 

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday January 24, 2026 at 11:00am at Swan Valley Lutheran Church in Motley, MN. A visitation will begin at 10:00am, and a lunch will be served following the service.

Larry was born on March 20, 1964, to Woodrow and Margie Shake. Larry grew up in this area and graduated from Staples High School. He worked at the Staples Golf Course for a number of years before being diagnosed with paralysis. Larry married Barbara Madson and they had 2 children together, Sean and Naomi Shake.

Larry enjoyed the outdoors and being on his four-wheeler touring and visiting all the neighbors.

Larry is survived by his children, Sean and Naomi Shake, Betty Lorber (Steve), Denise Bickford (Steve), grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings Gary Shake, Steve, Emily, Jo, and Sherry.

Larry was loved by his family and will be greatly missed.
