LaVonne Strand

LaVonne Virginia Strand, 83, of Pine River, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2025. She was born on May 17, 1942, in Owatonna, Minnesota, to Charles and Jane (Fischer) Miller. A private service will be held for immediate family.

On February 29, 1964, she married the love of her life, Dale Strand, with whom she shared a wonderful journey of over 61 years.

LaVonne found joy in the simple pleasures of life: tending her garden, preparing delicious family meals, and casting a fishing line. Her greatest love, however, was spending time with her family. She nurtured a home filled with warmth, laughter, and love.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Dale; her children, Renee Berndt (Kurt) of Owatonna, MN, Thomas Strand (Linda Erdman) of Ellendale, MN, Roxanne Bruney (Billy Hurin) of Clover, SC, and Jeffrey Strand (Kristen) of Emily, MN; her cherished grandchildren, Shawn Berndt (Sarah), Stephanie Armstrong (Taylor), Suzy Nuetzman (David), Jonathan Bruney, and Ashley Bruney; and her great-grandchildren, Charlie Berndt, Addison Berndt, Grant Armstrong, Cole Armstrong, Drew Nuetzman, and Jackson Nuetzman. She is also survived by her loving sisters: Louise Stenzel, Leona Rieck, and sister-in-law Candy Fischer.

LaVonne’s life was a testament to kindness, family, and the simple joys that make life beautiful. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
