LaVerne J. Opse

LaVerne Jean Opse, 83, of Merrifield, formerly of Minneapolis, MN, passed away on April 20, 2026, in Little Falls.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Baxter.

LaVerne worked as a seamstress for many years, dedicating herself to her craft with care and precision. In her free time, she found joy in simple pleasures—reading, gardening, bird watching, crocheting, and spending time at the lake. She especially enjoyed fishing and cherished the peaceful moments those experiences brought.

She is survived by her brother, Loren Winsor of St. Louis Park, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.

LaVerne was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; and her siblings, Roger, Patrick, Gary, and Pete.

Arrangements are entrusted to Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Baxter.
