Larry Garthe

Larry J. Garthe, age 51, of Brainerd, passed away Friday, March 21, 2008, at St. Josephs Medical Center. Memorial Services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, March 29, 2008, at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter. Friends may call beginning at 1:00 PM Saturday. Interment will be at a later date in Ft. Ripley Cemetery, Ft. Ripley, MN.
Larry Jon Garthe was born on August 15, 1956, in Minneapolis, MN, the son of Morris and Gladys (Tuttle) Garther. Larrys family summered on Pirch Lake near Brainerd and moved here in 1972, graduating from Brainerd High School in 1974. He enjoyed being with his friends in the outdoors, camping, fishing, gardening, and was an avid four-wheeler and dirt bike rider. Larry was devoted to his parents, caring for them until his father passed away and his mother moved into Edgewood Vista.

He was preceded in death by his father, Morris; and a sister, Lona. Larry will be sadly missed by his mother, Gladys of Brainerd; his brother, Russell; aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, many friends and his dog, Arie.
