Kevin P. Eschenbacher Sr.

Kevin Paul Eschenbacher Sr., 71, of Brained, passed away on March 7, 2024. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday March 12, 2024, at 11:30am at Zion Lutheran Church in Brainerd. There will be a visitation held on Monday March 11, 2024, from 4:00pm - 7:00pm at the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Baxter, and also one hour prior to the start of the service at the church on Tuesday. Burial will be at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls. A luncheon will be served following the burial at the Brainerd VFW Post #1647. 

Kevin was born on June 24, 1952, to Carl and Shirley (Morlok) Eschenbacher in Brainerd. After high school he joined the Air Force and honorably served from 1970-1974. He married Rose Torrey on July 14, 1973, in Michigan and they had two children, Kevin Jr. and Amanda. Later in life he married Linda Skaalerud on August 27, 2005.

Kevin worked on the family farm. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and around trees. He loved Old Milwaukee and Winstons. Above all else, he loved his family, especially his grandchildren.

Kevin is survived by his wife Linda; father Carl; mother-in-law Cleone Skaalerud; son, Kevin Jr. (Stephanie); grandsons, Kody and Kyle; daughter, Amanda (Mark) Smith; granddaughters Alexis and Caitlin; stepsons, Daniel (Jenaya) Smude and children, Brady, Trey, Donovan, Dylan, Peyton, and Preston; Todd (Messena) Smude and children, Dalton, Chase, Kylie, and McKayla; stepdaughter Amanda (Cody) Zech and children, Zoey and Zane; step grandchildren, Blake, Alaina and Ethan; three great grandchildren ; siblings, Karen (Bob) Owen, Kay (Warren) McVey, Karl, Kurt (Brenda); and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother Shirley; stepmom Marge; father-in-law Roger Skaalerud; first wife Rose; and stepson Chad.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Baxter.
