Kenneth Ellstrom

October 21, 1941 — January 23, 2026

Brainerd

Kenneth Wayne Ellstrom, age 84, of Brainerd, Minnesota, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on January 23, 2026.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Baxter, Minnesota. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Lunch will be served following the service.

Ken spent many years as a hardworking and dependable provider for his family. He worked for the railroad for nine and a half years, followed by several in highline construction. He also worked for 20 years in the maintenance department at Bethany Good Samaritan. Known as a true “jack of all trades,” Ken could fix just about anything and was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Ken was a workaholic by nature, but he also made time for the things he loved. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping, and took great comfort in the warmth of his wood-burning stove at home. Above all, Ken treasured time spent with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Yvonne Ellstrom, whom he married on July 11, 1964; his children, Jeff (Debbie) Ellstrom, David (Shellisa) Ellstrom, and Todd Ellstrom; his grandchildren, Jessica, Jacob, Levi, Katie, Hannah, Keira, Josh, Micah, and Mikayla; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and his sister, Susan Kaminski.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Jody Ellstrom; his granddaughter, Kristin; and his brothers, Ron Ellstrom and Richard Ellstrom.

Ken’s faith was an important part of his life and brought him comfort and strength. We take peace in knowing that he is now resting in the loving arms of his Savior and reunited with those who have gone before him.

Arrangements are entrusted to Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Baxter, Minnesota.
