Kathryn “Kathy” Lois Worcester, age 77, passed away on October 7, 2026. She was born on July 8, 1949, to Charles Dusheck and Lois Mcaninch.
Kathy grew up in Pine River, Minnesota, and later moved to Brainerd after retiring. She was a one-of-a-kind person with a big personality, a great sense of humor, and just enough stubbornness to keep everyone on their toes. She had a way of making people laugh, making people feel welcome, and making friends wherever she went. Everyone who knew Kathy loved her.
Kathy was the kind of person who took everyone in. Her home and her heart were always open, and she never hesitated to make room for another person in her life. She loved her neighbors and all of the neighborhood kids, many of whom held a special place in her heart. She had many friends throughout her life and was loved by so many people in her community.
Kathy is survived by her daughter, Sandi; ( Keith) her son, Roy; her siblings, Karen, Janice, and Sue; her grandchildren, Mitchel, 26 (Carly), Conner, 23, (Maria) Hailey, 23, (Jason) Kallie, 20, and Braxton, 15; her great-grandchildren, Lane and Stetson; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her son, Chuck, Her husband Larry, her sister, Diane “DeeDee”; and her parents, Charles and Lois Dushek.
Kathy loved spending her time baking, crafting, and crocheting. She was especially known for her Christmas cookies, which she lovingly baked for everyone. Sharing her baking with others was one of the many ways she showed her love. She also treasured her family and especially loved being a grandmother. Her grandchildren meant the world to her, and she loved them more than words could express.
Kathy also adored her beloved cat, Baby, who was an important part of her life and brought her much comfort and companionship.
Kathy was truly one of the best people you could have the privilege of knowing. She had a big heart, a big personality, and an even bigger capacity to love. She welcomed people into her life, cared for those around her, and made people feel like they belonged. Her humor, stubborn spirit, generosity, and unconditional love will be remembered by everyone fortunate enough to have known her.
She leaves behind countless memories, many Christmas cookies, plenty of stories and laughs, and so many people who loved her.
Kathy will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
A celebration of life will be held at the Jenkins VFW on Saturday October 17 from 12-3. We will have Kathy’s favorite, sweat treats.
