Joseph Dotty

Joseph Bartholomew Dotty, age 84, passed away on April 15, 2026. He was a resident of Mesa, Arizona, and Breezy Point, Minnesota.

Joe was the oldest of nine siblings and was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph P. Dotty and Mary Faine (Connolly) Dotty; his brother, Paul Dotty; and his sisters, Monica Dotty, Pamala Attia, and Carla Bristow.

He is survived by his loving wife, Susan; his children, Joe Jr. (Melanie) Dotty, John Dotty, and Angela (Greg) Bowen; his sisters, Mary Thompson, Barbara Dotty, Lisa (Scott) Llewellyn, and Kathleen Dotty; as well as nine cherished grandchildren; Sydney, Katie, Macy, Connor, Molly, Joey, Rachel, Morgan and Brady, and three great-grandchildren; Annie Jo, Parker and August.

Joe lived a full and entrepreneurial life, pursuing many business ventures over the years. His work spanned a wide range of industries, including contracting, development, real estate brokerage, farming, restaurant ownership, hotel and resort ownership, car dealership, gas station, gun club ownership, and operating a nonprofit thrift store. He was known for his strong work ethic, vision, and willingness to take on new challenges.

Outside of his professional life, Joe enjoyed boating, fishing, and golfing—pastimes that brought him joy and allowed him to spend time with family and friends.

He was also deeply committed to giving back, contributing generously to countless individuals and organizations throughout his life. His quiet acts of kindness and community involvement left a lasting impact on many.

Joe will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his entrepreneurial spirit, and his generosity toward others. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A visitation will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, April 24, 2026, at St. Alice Catholic Church in Pequot Lakes, Minnesota, followed by a memorial service at 1:00 p.m. Burial and a reception will follow in Breezy Point.
