Josef Harant

Josef Harant, age 84, Pine River, died on Saturday, December 23, at Abbott-Northwestern Medical Center in Minneapolis. Services will be private. Arrangements are with the Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter.
Josef Harant was born in Prague, Czechoslovakia on February 27, 1916. He lived in Czechoslovakia until the age of 32, when he immigrated to Australia. There, he met and married his wife, Josefa Schmidt Harant, in Melbourne. In 1959 the family immigrated to America, where they settled in Chicago. Josef worked as a plumber. He moved to Pine River in 1998, to be near his daughter.

Josef Harat is survived by a daughter, Annmarie (Ted) Rassett of Fifty Lakes, and a sister, Fana Krizova of Pilsman, Czechoslovakia. His parents and 9 siblings preceded him in death. Submitted by: Brenny Funeral Chapel Baxter, MN 56425 (210) 828-5051
