John Linehan

Jul 27, 1950 — Jul 10, 2026

John Linehan, 75, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, hard work, and unwavering devotion to his family.

Born in St. Paul, Minnesota, John was a lifelong Minnesotan who took great pride in his roots. After more than 20 years as a proud Teamster, he retired at the remarkable age of 49. Retirement wasn’t about slowing down—it was about embracing the life he had worked so hard to build. He and his beloved wife, Susan, made their home in Hillman, Minnesota, on cherished family land that had been passed down through multiple generations. It was there that John found peace, purpose, and countless happy moments surrounded by nature and the people he loved most.

John had a gift for bringing people together. Whether he was gathered around a campfire telling jokes that had everyone laughing, sitting at the table enjoying a spirited game of cribbage or poker, or simply sharing stories with family and friends, he made every moment memorable. His quick wit, warm smile, and easygoing nature made him someone people naturally gravitated toward.

Above all else, John was a devoted family man. He was the steady foundation of his family, offering unconditional love, quiet wisdom, and unwavering support throughout his life. He found his greatest joy in watching his family grow and took immense pride in every generation that followed.

John is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Susan Linehan; his children, Robert (Cindi), Frederick (Jennifer), and Rebecca (James); his grandchildren, Jarilyn, Nicholas, Frederick, Michael, and Viggo; his great-grandchildren, Lilly and Jaxson; and his brothers, Richard (Carol), Fred (Jackie), and Jim (Paula). He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family members, lifelong friends, and neighbors who will miss him dearly.

John will be remembered not only for the life he lived, but for the kindness he showed, the laughter he shared, and the example he set. His love of family, his dedication to hard work, his appreciation for the outdoors, and his ability to make others smile are gifts that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

Although his passing leaves a tremendous void, his family finds comfort in the countless memories he created and in knowing his legacy will endure through the generations to come.

A life well lived. A man well loved. A legacy that will never be forgotten
