John "Jack" Deick

John (Jack) Deick was born on June 29, 1938, in Little Falls, MN to the late John and Ella (Stoltenberg) Deick. Jack passed away on May 28, 2026, peacefully at St. Gabriel’s Hospital in Little Falls, MN. He grew up on the family farm in Cushing, MN which he eventually took over and farmed for the rest of his life. He attended Little Falls High School and graduated in 1956. He was united in marriage to Diane Thielen on September 16, 1968, in Lastrup, MN. He enjoyed the country life, his children, farming, socializing and dancing with his beloved wife Diane. He was on the Cushing Town Board, a member of the National Farmers Organization, and was a part-time mail carrier for 29 years. After semi-retiring, he and Diane took many bus trips all over the United States. They especially enjoyed a trip together to Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Italy with the Walzateer Band. Jack’s passion was spending time with this family and grandchildren, dancing, traveling, helping with the family laser engraving business, going for drives, and spending time in the woods relaxing with God’s nature. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Jack is survived by his loving wife of nearly 58 years, Diane Deick; his children, Lynette (Keith) Miller of Randall, MN, Laurie (Jim) Daudt of Randall, MN, Cheryl Alvarez of Woodbury, MN and grandchildren, Kate, Luke, Emma Miller; Tommy, David, Justin, Julia Alvarez, Brookelynn and Brylee Deick.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ella Deick; son, Kevin Deick; siblings, Dorothy Valerius, Violet Carlson, Bernard Deick, Robert Deick, and Mary Newman.

A visitation will be held from 5pm-7pm on Monday, June 8th at the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Randall. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11am on Tuesday, June 9th at St. James Catholic Church in Randall with a visitation one hour prior.
