JoAnn Johnson, age 85, passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Savior on June 14, 2026. She was born on November 13, 1940, and lived a life marked by faith, love, generosity, and devotion to family.

JoAnn loved life and cherished her family above all else. The love of her life was her husband of 67 years, Arnie. Together they built a beautiful life side-by-side through devotion, perseverance, and partnership. JoAnn was a supportive and devoted wife whose steadfast presence blessed her family every day.

She created countless fun-filled memories for her daughters and grandchildren, filling their lives with laughter, traditions, and unwavering love. JoAnn consistently placed the comforts and needs of others before her own, living a hardworking and selfless life that reflected her generous spirit.

JoAnn was a wonderful baker and hostess. Her freezer was always filled with cookies, pies, and bars, ready for family, friends, and unexpected guests. Visitors rarely left her home empty-handed and often departed with a plate of cookies. Her home was a place of warmth, welcome, and abundant hospitality.

She had a deep love for nature and wildlife, creating a sanctuary in her beautiful yard that reflected her care and appreciation for God's creation. She delighted in feeding birds, ducks, and deer, and took great pride in her garden, her trees, and the yard she cherished. One would be hard-pressed to find a weed in her yard—a testament to the dedication and joy she found in caring for the outdoors.

As a follower of Jesus Christ, JoAnn loved others well. Those who knew her experienced her warmth, kindness, and compassion. Her faith was evident not only in what she believed, but in how she lived and served those around her.

JoAnn is lovingly survived by her husband, Arnie Johnson; her daughters, Joanie Scheid and Vicky (Scot) Kinney; grandchildren, Chris (Beryl) Scheid, Adam (Jaye) Scheid, Eric Scheid, Alli (Matt) Straumann, Kayla Lauer, Travis (Shantel) Lauer, Daniel (Haley) Lauer, and Malia Lauer; siblings, Fred Bennett, Bunny Sloan, and Robert (Cheryl) Bennett; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Laura Bennett; her brother, Ronald Bennett; and her grandson, Jeffrey Lauer.

Though we will greatly miss JoAnn, we find comfort in knowing that she is now at peace in the presence of the Father. Her legacy of love, faith, hospitality, hard work, and devotion to family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

"Well done, good and faithful servant." — Matthew 25:23
