Joan Novak

Joan Elizabeth Novak, 92, of Baxter, passed away on February 23, 2024, at Golden Horizon’s in Crosslake. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11am on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at St. Andrews Catholic Church with a visitation one hour prior with Father Gabriel Waweru officiating.

Joan was born on September 5, 1931, to Vincent and Charlotte (Kohn) Troyanek in La Crosse Wisconsin. She married John Novak and worked at the Brainerd State Hospital in the administration department.

Joan is survived by her children, Bill (Candy Shepherd) King, Randy (Val) King, Cindy (Dave) Bistodeau, Rick (Diane) King, Brian (Audrey) King; stepchildren, Jesse Novak, Dawn (Keith) Skoglund, and Virginia (Gary Willemson) Novak, six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Baxter.
