Jeffrey D. Hallanger, aged 62, of Minneapolis, MN passed away March 9, 2026, at HCMC, Minneapolis, MN.
Jeffrey was born in Minneapolis on November 17, 1963, the son of Gary Hallanger and Janis Hallanger. At a very young age, Jeff moved with his family to Brainerd, MN and grew up there. He graduated from Brainerd High School in 1981. After graduation, he attended the DeVry Institute of Technology University in the MIT Program at Irving, Texas. After graduation he lived in Plano, Texas for the next 20 years. He married Beth Jollif in 1993, they made their home at Plano, TX. They were together for 6 years. Jeff worked at several different companies over the years as an Information Technology Associate.
Jeff touched the lives of everyone who had the honor of knowing him. He was a very loving, caring, generous person that will be remembered forever. Jeff had a big heart. If someone in his family or a friend needed help, he took them under his wing and tried to make things better for them. He had a great sense of humor and invariably would share his anecdotes and jokes with anyone that would listen, he would have you smiling and laughing in no time at all even if his jokes weren’t that terribly funny, but he thought they were. Jeff was a very carefree, happy person.
Jeff loved spending time with his family. His nieces and nephews were very special to him, and he cherished the time he spent with them. His furry canine buddies, Jake, Pete and Clyde, and can’t forget his mighty cat, Flash, they were all the love of his life, and he took them everywhere he went. He even, at one time, had pet bunnies. That was Jeff. Jeff enjoyed traveling and spent many vacations visiting Amsterdam and the Netherlands, his favorite place to visit. He and his best buddy, Eli, took many trips together. Jeff also never missed any of our large family camping trips which took us all over Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin. Such happy times.
Jeff is survived by his mother, Jan Chrisinger, of Brainerd, MN, father, Gary Hallanger of Linden, MI, siblings Layne (Marcia) Chrisinger, Lisa (Scott) Bender, Daniel (Karen) Hallanger, Laura (Brad) Pfeifer, David (Robin) Chrisinger, Anne (Scott) Jendro, and his best friend Eli Roeges. Jeff is also survived by 13 nieces and nephews, his aunts, uncles, cousins, and many, many friends.
Preceded in death by his stepfather, Lee Chrisinger “Dad”, his grandparents – Norma & Maynard Hallanger, Doris & Charles McGough and Eva & Harold Chrisinger, and aunts and uncles.
