Jeannine Elizabeth Barklind Richter McCabe was born on October 18, 1935, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Wilfred and Jeanette (Paulsen) Barklind.
Jeannine grew up in the St. Louis Park area and graduated from St. Louis Park High School in June of 1953. During the winter of 1950, while ice skating, Jeannine met Carl Frederick Richter. The two were married on October 23, 1954, and together they were blessed with seven children: Vicki, Pamela, Rhonda, Teresa, Carla, Sandra, and finally their son, Michael (Deceased).
In the fall of 1985, Jeannine met Vernon J. McCabe. After a whirlwind courtship, the two were married in Las Vegas in January of 1987.
Jeannine lived a full and active life. She spent the first half of her life in St. Louis Park, lived for a few years in Alexandria, and eventually made her home in the Brainerd Lakes Area.
Throughout her working years, Jeannine held many different jobs and had a wonderful ability to connect with people wherever she went. She worked as a telephone operator, customer service at Maid at Scandinavia, in monument marker sales, as a bartender, and as a cook, where she became especially popular with those she served. She also worked with podiatrist before beginning what would become a 30-year career with Family Chiropractic practice.
Jeannine had many interests and enjoyed keeping busy. She loved ice skating and roller skating, dancing, snowmobiling, camping, and traveling. She also had a creative side and enjoyed watercolor, colored pencil and acrylic painting, as well as diamond painting. Whether she was creating something beautiful, heading out on an adventure, or simply spending time with those she loved, Jeannine embraced life and the experiences it brought her.
Jeannine is survived by her children, Vicki (Duane), Pamela (Jim), Rhonda, Teresa, Carla (Jay) Sandra (Donny), and Michael (deceased); grandchildren, Stephanie, Peggy, Deanne (Kevin), Jeremy (Kelly), Melody (Matt), Travis (Gina), Lee, Christopher (Breanne), Taschia (Fiancé Ryan), Matthew, Trista, Troy, Tanya, Tony, Kaitlyn (Jordan), Derrick (Autumn), Donnie, Dennis, Dawn (John), Jessie, Emery, Sarah, Haley, Morgan; great grandchildren, Seleena, Kelly, FrankieJo, Kyle (deceased), Rochelle (Marshall), Damara, Macey, Cora, Taelor, Earl, Leeam, Jamisen, Courtney, Teagan, Brynlie, Madisyn, Jake, Alley, Jayce, Kendall, Ryder, Rayton, Lily, Finleigh, Weslee, Maverick, Baileigh, Kane, Haisley, Wrenley, Harper, Benjamin, Bridget, Vanessa, Sydney, Carter, Thomas, Kali, Noah, Cameron, Ari; great great grandchildren, Madden, Charlize, Vin; and many nieces and nephews – too numerous to count.
