Jay Broch

Jay D. Broch, 56, of Brainerd, MN died on Friday, May 30, 2014 at Essentia Health/St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd, MN. Services for Jay will be held on Friday, June 6, 2014 at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN with Pastor Steven Benson officiating at 4:00PM. Visitation is one hour prior to services at the chapel.

Jay was born on December 20, 1957 in Illinois to Carl and Elsie (Maslow) Broch. Jay was raised in Springfield, IL before moving to Brainerd, MN and graduated from Brainerd High School. In 1980 he married Sheryl Speed. Jay lived in Brainerd his entire life, working in law enforcement on an ambulance crew and most recently as a handyman. He enjoyed turkey and deer hunting. Jay also liked to play golf and go fishing. He was the racing director for go-cart races in the area. Most of all Jay loved and enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters.

Jay will be sadly missed by his wife, Sheryl; children, Lance (Danielle) Broch and Trevor (Kelsey Carlson) Broch; granddaughters, Karli and Hailey; sister, Karla; brother, Thomas; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Elsie; and son, Nathan.
