Janice Mathison

Janice Mathison, 87, of Baxter, MN passed away on July 16, 2026, in Baxter. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday August 8, 2026, at First Baptist Church in Baxter at 11:00am with Pastor David Grotzke officiating. There will be a visitation held at 10:00am. Lunch will be served following the service.

Janice was born on October 8, 1938, in Brainerd to Clyde and Evelyn (Hoffman) Goedderz. Janice married Gary Mathison, the love of her life, on October 19, 1956. Janice spent her working years driving school bus for 57 years.

Together, Gary and Janice enjoyed traveling, camping, skiing adventures, and many fun times together. Janice enjoyed playing piano, working on puzzles, knitting, and spending time with family. Janice especially enjoyed watching The Hallmark Channel – especially Christmas in July.

She is survived by children Monica (Tim) Andrew of Baxter, Tamara (Duane) Pearce of Cedar Falls, IA, Daniel of Baxter, grandchildren Thomas (Krissy) Andrew, Alissa (Jimmy) Roberts, Tasha (James) Miller, Emily (Scotty) Russell, Tara (Brian) Borg, and Maxwell Mathison, 12 great grandchildren, and sister Bonny Norwood.

Janice is preceded in death by her husband Gary and her parents; Clyde and Evelyn.

Arrangements are entrusted to Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Baxter.
