Janet Marie (Mayo) Hausauer, of Brainerd, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 10, 2025, at Bethany Good Samaritan Home, surrounded by her loving family. She had recently celebrated her 90th birthday with a large gathering of family and friends.
Born to Lyle and Irma (Toumi) Mayo, also of Brainerd, Janet is preceded in death by her parents; her loving daughter Glenyce Baldwin-Stine; brothers-in law Bob Hamilton and Steve Sundquist; nephew Jody Hamilton; and son-in-law Terry Baldwin.
Janet is survived by her sons, Michael Hausauer and Mark Hausauer; granddaughters Nichole (Tom) Lind, Jennifer (Willy) Holmer, and Lauren (Paul) Ruiz; sisters Jeannine (Bob) Hamilton and Judy (Steve) Sundquist; 11 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
Janet was a 1953 graduate of Brainerd High School. She loved to travel, having been to many destinations both foreign and domestic – her favorite trip was a land and sea trip to Alaska. A devoted lover of animals, Janet's home was always filled with the companionship of her dogs, who brought her endless joy. Her happiest times were spent at her home on Lake Adney, where she created countless memories with family and friends. Janet also enjoyed a long and rewarding career at Brainerd National Bank, where she was known for her dedication, service, and warm presence.
Service Information
A celebration of Janet's life will be held on Saturday, November 15th at the Bethany Good Samaritan Chapel, 804 Wright Street, Brainerd. Visitation will start at 1:00 PM, followed by a service at 2:00 PM and refreshments provided by her family.
Memorial
Instead of flowers or gifts, the family asks that those who wish to remember Janet make a memorial donation to the Babinski Foundation animal shelter in Pequot Lakes (babinkskifoundation.org).
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate caregivers at Bethany Good Samaritan Home and Moments Hospice for the dedicated care and support they provided Janet and her family.
