James Payne

James Payne, 52, Brainerd, died May 6, 2004 at St. Joseph's Medical Center. Burial, with Military Honors by the Brainerd VFW Post #1647 will be at 1 p.m. Monday, May 10, 2004 at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m. at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter with the Reverand Chip Avelsgaard officiating.
James was born November 24, 1951 to George and Julia (LaJoi) Payne in Brainerd. He attended Brainerd High School before entering the military. He served in Korea and Vietnam. James was a retired truck driver. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping.

James is survived by his wife Cynthia (Branville) Payne; daughter, Angie (Paul) Marvna; son James Payne Jr; two brothers, Richard "Pinky" (Carrie) Payne; Gerald St. Marie; one sister Delores (Merle) Berry; two step-daughters, Tami Cardoza, Tanya El Sherif and seven grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and numnerous great nieces and nephews. He ws preceded in death by his parents and brother, Larry Lee St. Marie.
