Hope Anderson

Hope Lorraine Anderson, 101, went to meet her Lord on August 17, 2026.

Hope was born on October 4, 1924, in Flandreau, SD, to August and Alice Suhr. She was their only child and her Hardesty grandparents were a big part of her life. She primarily grew up in Holland, MN, and graduated from Pipestone, MN, in 1942. After graduation, Hope went to business school in Mankato and then worked in Minneapolis at Sexton Insurance Company.

Also, after graduation, her parents moved to Pine River and bought a farm. This led Hope to visit from Minneapolis, whereupon she met Robert Anderson. They fell in love, married in 1946, and lived in Pine River from then on. They had two sons, Richard and Craig. Hope worked at Pine Motors for 25 years, and then continued doing books for Glenn MacMillan’s Lake Region Investment Corp. for many years.

Hope loved her family, and though she will be missed, we are happy to know she is united with her Lord and loved ones.

Hope is survived by her children, Richard (Pat) Anderson and Craig (Brenda) Anderson, 5 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 4-6 PM at the Brenny-Kline Funeral Chapel in Pine River, MN, on Monday, August 24, 2026. A celebration of Hope’s long and blessed life will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at Riverview Church in Pine River, MN, with a visitation the hour prior and a luncheon to follow the service. Memorials may be made to MN Adult & Teen Challenge.
