Harold Metteer

Harold was born on February 10, 1922 in Lynch, Nebraska to Arthur (Wes) and Leafa (Hinkley) Metteer. He met and married Gladys Holec on October 9, 1947 in Luverne, Minnesota. After being honorably discharged from the Army, Harold worked as a farmer and in road construction all his life and he enjoyed reading and working with horses. Harold was a member of the VFW Post #7319 in Wagner, South Dakota and American Legion #456 of Sebeka, Minnesota.

Harold is survived by his wife Gladys of 63 years; children, Lyle (Rhoda) Metteer, Jimmie (Donna) Metteer, Joyce (Edwin) Hepola, Judy Metteer, JoLynn (Larry) Weaver, Janelle (Glen) Swenson, and Jane (Joe) Brockpahler; eighteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren; several nieces, and nephews and great nieces and nephews; and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Cleo McDonald, Mildred Holec, and Eileen Metteer; brothers, Earl (Bill), Donald (Jack), and Jimmy Metteer.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter.
