Harold W. Boyer, age 80, of Pequot Lakes, passed away on June 2, 2011 at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids.
Harold was born to Clifford and Florence Boyer on October 12, 1930. He was born in Hebron, Nebraska and moved to Lakeville, Minnesota as an infant. He served in the Army and National Guard from 1949 thru 1957. Harold married June on December 12, 1953 and were they married for over 48 years. He was a Boy Scout leader when his sons were young. He worked for Cedar Engineering - Control Data for 17 years. In 1972 he "retired" by purchasing Wilderness Point Resort in Nisswa, Minnesota and owned it for over 20 years. In his 2nd retirement, he devoted much of his time to the Church, and his handiwork can be seen throughout the building.
Harold is survived by children, Douglas (Patience), Danny (Nancy), Diana (Richard) Bardy; sisters, Mary Robinson & Lorraine Guyton; brother, LeRoy (Pat); 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and many relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife, June (Worwa), his parents, and sister Leola Westphal.
He loved bowling, camping, fishing, and sports.
Services will be 11 AM on Friday, June 10, 2011, at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Pequot Lakes. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM on Thursday evening at the church, and will continue one hour prior to the service Friday.
