Gordon Thorstad

Gordon Leroy Thorstad, 76, of Brainerd, MN died on Monday, October 24, 2016 at St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, Minnesota. A Memorial Service for Gordon is pending.

Gordon was born on October 23, 1940 in Lake Crystal, MN to Edwin and Mildred (Geddy) Thorstad. After graduating from High School in Lake Crystal, Gordon went to college at The Ray Vogue School Of Art in Chicago, IL. Gordon served in the United States Army. He married Shirley Morris in 1961 in Madelia, MN and they made their home in Apple Valley, MN. He worked as a commercial artist doing photo retouching at Dayton's and later was self-employed until his retirement in the late 1980's. Gordon was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Gordon is survived by his two sons, Rodney Thorstad of Brainerd, MN and Randy Thorstad of Monticello, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Mildred and brother, Lenus. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN.
