Gordon Johanson

Gordon J. Johanson, 42, of Baxter died on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral Services for Gordon will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Lakewood Evangelical Free Church in Baxter, MN with visitation one hour prior to services at the church. Pastor Dwight Johnson will be officiating the service.

Gordon was born on April 28, 1969 in Cambridge, MN to Douglas and Darlene (Knudson) Johanson. He attended school in both Aitkin and Brainerd. He graduated from Brainerd High School in 1987. Gordon was the manager at a Holiday convenience store in Golden Valley, MN before returning back to Brainerd to live with his parents so they could help him in his fight against cancer. Gordon loved his family and his two kittens. He enjoyed fishing, hard work, football, and baseball.

Gordon is survived by his parents, Douglas and Darlene of Brainerd, MN; brother, Bob (fiancé-Teri Buzzell) of Coon Rapids, MN; sisters, Laurie (Arlan) Holmes of St. Croix, Virgin Islands, Shelley Tenquist of Cocoran, MN, Dianne (Habib) Tajik of Plymouth, MN, and Jill (Tom) Anderson of Fort Ripley, MN; many aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his sister, Christine Seguin; paternal and maternal grandparents; aunt, Kathyrn Johanson; uncles, Roy and Phillip Knudson; and nephews, Aaron Holmes, Chad and Trent Knudson.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter.
