Gertrude Nickel

Affectionately known as Gertie, a spirited 95 years young, took her final journey on September 21, 2018. She was the last surviving member of the McGowan sisters, a remarkable group of women who enjoyed life to the fullest. Gertie’s love of adventure, including traveling, fishing and entertaining, brought joy to the lives of everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed by husband, Donald; sons, Bill Noser (Linda), Larry Noser (Margaret); daughter, Tami Laska (Joe); loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a beautiful extended family of inlaws, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. She was the light of our life and a true inspiration for living life well.

Services will be 11 AM on Tuesday, September 25, at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church Pequot Lakes. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Pequot Lakes City Cemetery.
