Gertrude Kruger

Gertrude Elieen (Morse) Kruger, age 90, passed away peacefully at Brookside Comfort Care, in Pine River, Minnesota on July 22, 2017. She was born to Stephen P. and Gertrude Morse on April 4, 1927.

Gertrude was married to Donald Paul Kruger in November of 1947. They had six children, Francis(Betty Anne), Catherine (William Field), Donna (Richard Blanchard), Michael (Brenda), Mark (Elizabeth) and Ida (Joe Hansen). She was a very talented, loving, witty person, with many hobbies; wood crafting, gardening, crocheting, fishing and traveling. Gertrude enjoyed working at the Backus Public School with all the students and faculty for many years. As a young child she developed polio, which may have been a struggle for some, but she never complained. She was a very strong, caring woman.

A memorial will be held at the Valley View Cemetery in Browns Valley, Minnesota, on August 5, 2017, at 2 PM.

We, the family of Gert, would like to give a big "Thank You" to all the staff at "Brookside", who went far beyond the basic needs of Gert, to making her feel very loved and comfortable. They were a "Godsend" to all of us, when we weren't able to be there. She is going to be missed by everyone.
