Gerre Mcguire

Geraldine "Gerre" McGuire age 75, of Pine River, passed away on Saturday August 19, 2017, at her home. She was born to Walter and Loyola (Seiler) Kuehlwein on April 13, 1942, in St Paul.

Gerre was united in marriage to Joseph McGuire on June 21st 1964. Together with her husband they owned and operated McGuire's Piney Ridge and Irish Hills Golf Course. She was a member of the Nisswa Women's Club from 2001-2012, serving as Treasurer for 2 years; she also worked on numerous committees for the fund -raising spring style show. In 2006 she was the Honorary Survivor Chair for the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and served on their board for several years. Gerre loved spending time with her 5 granddaughters and 5 great grandchildren. Her interests included quilting, reading, playing Mah Jong and Bocce on the beach in Florida, she loved to travel.

Gerre is survived by her husband Joseph "Mac" McGuire of Pine River and Daytona Beach Shores, FL; daughter Susan Hardy (Lane) of Pine River; son Michael McGuire (Lori) of Minnetonka, MN; granddaughters: Colleen Eberle (Cole) of Cawker City KS; Chelsie Tilkens (Ben) of St Anthony Village, MN, Bridget Hotzler (Bryce) of Prior Lake, MN, Michelle Milde (Brandon) of Rochester, MN, Molly McGuire of Shakopee, MN; great grandchildren; Easton, Isaac, Sullivan, Scarlett and Brock; sister, Marilyn LaBarre (Lanny) of St Paul, MN.

In Lieu of flowers please make memorials to Essentia Health Cancer Center, St Joseph Brainerd MN. The family would like to express a special thank you to St. Croix Hospice for the compassionate care they provided.

Services will be 12:00 noon on Wednesday, August 23, at First Lutheran Church Pine River. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
