Geraldine Ackland

Geraldine Ackland (Jerry), age 92, of Baxter, MN, formerly of Austin, MN, passed away on April 4th, 2026.

She moved to Baxter 3 years ago to be closer to her daughter and lived in the Edgewood Memory Center.

Jerry was born in Richardson Township, MN, to Edward and Anna Regina Baumgartner. She is preceded in death by her grandson, her two daughters, and her husband, Bob.

She is survived by her daughter Sandi Colbenson (Bob), Baxter, MN; her son Donald Ackland, Austin; Dale Ackland (Jean), Austin; and son-in-law Thomas Hinkle, Austin.

Five grandchildren.

Jerry loved people and she worked at St. Marks Rest Home in Austin in the kitchen for 38 years. She loved bingo, garage sales, auctions, and her family. She was a good cook and you never left her house without some food.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN, on Saturday, May 16, 2026 from 11am – 2pm.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Baxter.
