George Miller

June 6, 1925 — January 11, 2011

George A. "Rusty" Miller, 85, of Nisswa passed away Tuesday January 11, 2011 at Bethany Good Samaritan in Brainerd. Services for Rusty will be held on Saturday at 12PM, January 15, 2011 at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter with Pastor Kate Stangl officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM on Friday January 14, 2011 at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter and one hour prior to services on Saturday.

Rusty was born in Little Falls MN to George and Edith (Otto) Miller and spent his early years on a farm near Cushing. He joined the Navy in the early 1940's. He married Norma in Nevada on December 2, 1944. Rusty began barbering in St. Paul in 1948 and moved to Brainerd in 1972. He owned and operated Miller Barber Shop on Front Street in Brainerd until retirement in 1999. Rusty was an active of the Crosslake Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed boating and living on his acreage.

Rusty will be missed by his wife of 66 years Norma (Lindborg); son, Thomas (Janet); and daughter Gale (Gary) Landem; 6 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; brothers, Duane and Maynard; sisters, Shirley (Robert) Scheider, Phyllis (John) Stompf, and Anita (James) Kennedy. Rusty was also adored by many nieces and nephews.

Rusty was preceded in death by his parents, George and Edith; brothers, Myron and Virgil; sisters Gladys Moravec and Arlene Feldt.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter.
