Gene Mielke

Gene Edward Mielke, 65, of Fifty Lakes, formerly of Jackson, Minnesota died on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, after two months of suffering with multiple myloma. Memorial services for Gene are planned for Saturday, January 8, 2011 at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter at 1:00 PM with visitation one hour prior to services. Interment will be at a later date.

Gene was born on March 8, 1945 in The Naval Hospital in Pensacola, Florida to Vincent and Catherine (Meyer) Mielke. Gene was a member of AA for thirty years and he was also an eye donor to Lions Eye Bank.

Gene will be sadly missed by his wife, Marlene; sons, Michael (Aadra) of Big Lake and Matthew (Amy) of Brainerd; sister, Janet (Larry) Dammann of Rosemount; sister-in-law, Sandra Mielke of Ham Lake; brother-in-law, Donald (Marilyn) Swanson of Sherburn; five grandchildren; two step-brothers, Dr. Ronald (JoAnn) Menk of Hinckley and Bob (Lenore) Menk of North Mankato. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Harriet Menk Mielke; brother, Sherman; and an infant sister.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter.
