Gail Herron

Gail Mardell Herron, 90, of Brainerd passed away on Saturday, June 26, 2021 peacefully in her sleep and surrounded by family at Bethany Good Samaritan Society. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 am on Friday, July 02, 2021 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Brainerd, MN. A visitation will take place one hour prior to services. Interment will be at Lake Edward Cemetery in Merrifield, MN.

Gail was born on March 27, 1931 in Brainerd, to Frederick and Geneva (Berg) Hazelton. She married John Herron on August  05, 1950 in Brainerd and together they had 6 children. Gail was a homemaker and raised her children. She also overcame several of life challenges. Gail loved birds, frogs croaking, flowers, the lake, the color pink, casinos, garage sales, sewing, embroidery, gardening, thrift stores, and most of all her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, John “Jack”; granddaughter Jennifer; her parents Fred and Geneva Hazelton; and 5 brothers Neil, Floyd, Oren, Wayne, and Glen Hazelton.

Gail leaves behind her six children Dianne (Joe) Herron, Brenda (Karl) Budahn, John Herron, Wendy (Dave) Leonard, Robert (Deb) Herron, and Jeff Herron; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren.

Gails’ family would like to thank all the staff at Bethany Good Samaritan for the love and care they provided for Gail.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Baxter.
