Frank Scott

Jun 20, 1940 — Sep 16, 2026

Brainerd

Frank Scott, 86, of Brainerd, Minnesota, passed away on September 16, 2026, in Aitkin, Minnesota.

Frank was born on June 20, 1940. He graduated from Washington High School in 1958 and later proudly served his country in the military, spending part of his service in Germany. Throughout his working years, Frank was a member of the Teamsters and served as a union steward.

Frank had a lifelong passion for anything with an engine. He especially enjoyed attending SCCA and IMSA races at Brainerd International Raceway and was an avid Formula One fan. A talented and creative craftsman, Frank loved restoring British sports cars, welding, and building motorcycles. He appreciated the challenge of taking something apart, understanding how it worked, and bringing it back to life.

Beyond his love for cars and motorcycles, Frank had a special place in his heart for his family—including the four-legged members. He happily spent time “babysitting” his German Shepherd granddogs, Cooper and Deke. He was also lovingly adopted as a grandpa by Brooklyn Rust and Sara Thompson (Titus), a relationship that held a special place in his life.

Frank is survived by his son, Charles Scott (Gerri Ann Rust); his honorary granddaughters, Sara Thompson and Brooklyn Rust; his furry grandchildren, Cooper and Deke; his brother, Robert (Mary) Scott; and his nephews, Jason (Laura) Scott and Matt (Tami) Scott, as well as the large extended family of his wife, Jean.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife, Jean Scott.

Frank’s family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff who cared for him in Aitkin, including the staff of Aitkin Health Services and Riverwood Healthcare, for the kindness, compassion, and care shown to Frank and his family.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 28, 2026, at Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Baxter. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. A luncheon will follow. Following the funeral, a graveside service with military honors will be held at Garrison Cemetery.

Frank will be remembered for his service to his country, his skillful hands, his passion for cars and racing, and most importantly, the family and friends who shared his life.
