Frank Fussy, lovingly known as “King Cat,” passed away on March 3, 2026, in Staples.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church, as well as on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, from 5:00–7:00 p.m., also at the church. Interment will follow at Holy Family Catholic Cemetery in Little Falls.

Frank was born on January 12, 1941, in Little Falls, Minnesota, to Peter and Margaret (Schlicting) Fussy. He graduated from Royalton High School with the Class of 1959. On August 31, 1964, Frank was united in marriage to Karen Welle. Together, they built a life centered on faith and family and were blessed with four children.

Frank proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. Following his military service, he worked for many years as a truck driver and later was employed at Camp Ripley, where he eventually retired.

Frank had a deep love for the outdoors and community life. He enjoyed snowmobiling, deer hunting, fishing, and following sports — even participating in 55-plus volleyball and softball leagues, and an avid Minnesota Twins fan and NASCAR fan. He was actively involved in the Lone Eagle Auto Club and snowmobiling clubs and took many first-place awards. He was a devoted member of the Knights of Columbus and belonged to the American Legion.

Known for his “gift to gab,” Frank could strike up a conversation with anyone, often turning a quick trip to the grocery store into a much longer visit. His quick wit, warm personality, and great sense of humor left lasting impressions on all who met him. Above all, Frank was deeply committed to his Catholic faith and cherished the relationships he built throughout his life.

Frank is survived by his beloved spouse, Karen; his children, Larry (Deanna) Fussy, Nancy Ploof (Troy), Lynn (Dale) Kartes, and Brian (Jill) Fussy; five grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. He is also survived by his siblings, Alvin (Eleanor) Fussy and Arnie (Colleen) Fussy; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Margaret Fussy; his siblings, Kathy (Roman) Beam and Gene Fussy; and his grandchild, Brenda Kartes.

He will be remembered for his devotion to family, his service to his country, and the joy he brought to others through his storytelling and laughter. Arrangements have been entrusted with Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Randall.
