Forrest D. Vanderbeek, age 64, of Sebeka, MN, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2025, in Browerville, MN.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2025, from 2:00–5:00 PM at the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN.
Forrest was born on September 5, 1961, to Dewain and Latrelle Vanderbeek in Oklahoma. He proudly served ten years in the Minnesota National Guard before spending three decades working at the Wadena Saw Mill. Forrest also devoted fifteen years to caring for the family hobby farm—a place that brought him peace and joy.
Forrest loved the simple things in life: a quiet day of fishing, the satisfaction of creating something with his hands, and the rhythm of work on the farm. He was a kind and generous man with a big heart who never hesitated to lend a hand or share a laugh. Forrest had a gift for making everyone feel welcome and valued, and he built lasting friendships wherever he went.
He is survived by his parents; his children, Josh (Andrea) Vanderbeek and Jake (Jorrie Jewell) Vanderbeek; grandchildren, Aubrie and Croix; and his siblings, Dawn Larson, Sherrie (Tim) Stockwell, Crystal (Paul) Tigges, Rishell (Merlin) Johnson, and Mark (Brenda) Huhtala.
Forrest was preceded in death by his brother, Brian Vanderbeek; brother-in-law, Jerry Larson; and life-long friend, Richard Pickar.
Those who knew Forrest will remember his warmth, humor, and the way he cared deeply for his family, friends, and community. He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered.
Arrangements are entrusted to Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Staples.
