Her Husband was a teacher at then at the Crosby-Ironton High School teaching Math & Chemistry. They both enjoyed playing Bridge and enjoying company of their many friends and neighbors. Florence enjoyed traveling twice to her homeland of Norway, to Scotland, Egypt and the Holy Lands, and several other places in the world. She was an active Grandmother here in Crosby attending functions at school and scouting events and also spent over twenty winters ("snowbirding") in the Reno/Lake Tahoe enjoying her Grandchildren their and the scenic landscapes in Reno, Nevada and South Lake Tahoe California.
She was an active member of the Cascade United Methodist Church for over 50 years. Also, Florence was also very active in the Crosby Flower Club, Art Club (here and in Lake Tahoe), local ballroom dancing club and Sons of Norway club. She enjoyed many hobbies like art, music and dancing out with her friends. She was also a member of the Paul Bunyan Arboretum and enjoyed gardening in her yard and making flower arrangements for her home and to enter in the Crow Wing County fair annually with many blue ribbons there for flower arrangements, paintings and even stamp collection entries. She became a very skilled award winning painter of landscapes, flowers, and some portraits. These paintings were proudly used to decorate her home and room at the Crosby care center. She was able to enter paintings, even several painted from the Care Center, at the Crow Wing County Fair up last year, 2010 and received a First prize! She was a strong person and an angel in everyone's lives that she touched. She was always learning. Especially learning about natural remedies to heal the body soul and mind.
