Florence Elizabeth Mailhot

Florence Elizabeth Mailhot, 96, passed away on April 18, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of love, laughter, and cherished memories.

If you knew Florence, you knew there was never a dull moment when she was around. She loved to laugh, loved to make others laugh, and had a way of making everything fun. Family meant everything to her, and whether it was a holiday, birthday, or simple family get-together, she did her best to be there. Her favorite saying was, "Holy Balls," and those words never failed to bring smiles to the faces of those she loved.

Florence was known for her quick wit, kind heart, and welcoming nature. She enjoyed sharing stories, spending time with family and friends, and raising a glass of Fireball or beer with those she loved. She proudly served as a campground host at Lake Winnibigoshish for 19 years, where she made countless friendships and memories. She was also a member of the VFW and the Lady Bugs. Many family gatherings were made special by Florence's famous BBQ ribs, carrot cakes, and homemade apple pies, which became favorites among family and friends.

Florence was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Maurice Mailhot, and her sons, Doug Mailhot and Steve Mailhot.

She is survived by her daughters, Diane Mailhot and Barbara Guderjohn; her sisters, Beverly Matich of Baxter and JoAnn Jackson of Arizona; along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family members, and friends who will miss her deeply.

While our hearts are heavy with her passing, we find comfort in imagining her arriving at Heaven's gates with that familiar smile, looking around at everyone waiting for her and saying,

"Here I am, you lucky people."

A Celebration of Life honoring Florence will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. at the VFW in Brainerd, Minnesota.
