Eunice Watland

Eunice L.Watland, age 81, of Baxter, MN passed away Friday June 3rd, 2011 at St. Joseph's Medical Center.

She was born November 27, 1929 in Brillion, Wisconsin to Clarence and Nora (Krueger) Reichardt. She was united in marriage to Leonard Watland on May 30, 1953.
Eunice was an elementary teacher in St. Louis Park for several years before she and Leonard made their home in the Brainerd Lakes Area. She and Leonard operated several businesses including Steak N Taters Drive-In, A&W, and KFC. She was an active member of the Baxter Lions Club and Park United Methodist Church until recent years. She will not only be remembered by the loving life she lived but also by the generous qualities that she instilled in her children, which will be passed down. She adored her grand and great grandchildren and was especially generous of her time with them; making them all feel as though they were the most important people in the world. She would invite them to spend weeks at a time with her and was always present at the grandchildren's events.

Eunice is survived by four children, Lynn (Tim) Mueller, Scott (Terri) Watland, Allen (Carmen) Watland, and Greg (Sherry) Watland; twelve Grandchildren, four Great-Grandchildren; one sister Pricsilla (Lal) Tahlier and two brothers Rodger (Lois) Reichardt, and David (Shirley) Reichardt; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years Leonard; her parents; three sisters, (SeVera) Sarah, LeMeryl (Merlie) & Millicent (Mitzi); and brother Roland.

Services will be held Tuesday June 7th, 2011, 7:00PM at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter with Pastor Rory Swenson officiating. Family and Friends are invited to gather two hours prior to services. A private family interment will be held at a later date at Evergreen Cemetery.
