Eugene Platzer

Eugene was born in Minneapolis MN to Tom and Mary (Pugh) Platzer. As a child he moved to Mound Mn. He graduated from Mound High school in 1959.

Gene loved to fish and hunt with his beloved dog (Tracey) and his yellow lab (Rusty). He enjoyed snowmobiling, 4-wheeling, and deer hunting with friends and the boys.

He is survived by his wife Virginia (Ginny) of 66 yrs.

Sons, Douglas (Carla) of Staples MN, Gregory (Karen) of Robbinsdale MN, David (Dawn) of Las Vegas, NV. Cheryl (Jack) of Capra Minneapolis MN

Grandsons, Eric Verndale, Gregory and Travis Minneapolis, Dillion Pelican Rapids, Step Grandson, Louie Las Vegas and Lonnie Fargo. Grand Daughter Samatha East Grand Forks, Step Granddaughters, Brandi Hawley, Alexis Staples and India Las Vegas.

Many nieces and nephews. Brother Dwayne (Cathy) Platzer, Mound MN.

Proceeded in Death by his parents, sisters (Dodi & Gerry). Infant daughter Roxann Marie. Granddaughter Heather (Olson) and son.

Visitation will be from 5pm-7pm on Friday, May 1, 2026 at the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Staples. Services will be held 11am on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Staples, with a visitation one hour prior.
