Eugene O'Neill

Eugene “Tom” O’Neill, 72, of Nisswa, passed away unexpectedly Monday, April 17, 2017 at Essentia Health – St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd. Private services are planned.

Eugene Thomas O’Neill was born February 11, 1945, in Minneapolis, the son of Eugene and Dorothy (Peterson) O’Neill. He graduated from Washburn High School and Brown Institute. Tom was a dedicated, hardworking employee of the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board for more than 30 years, most notably as Master Gardener of the Lake Harriet Rose Garden. In 1984 he married Kerry Farmer. The couple enjoyed many years together. In 2009, he moved to Nisswa. Tom liked to garden and fish. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed photography.

Tom loved his wife and partner, Kerry; his beautiful daughter, Erin and her partner Greg; and his amazing grandchildren, Jordan, Allie and Ryder. He will also be missed by his sisters, Patty Eyler and Sharon Robertson; nieces and nephews; and friends too numerous to list. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Mike.
