Eugene Kitzmann

Eugene Kitzmann, age 79, of Hackensack, passed away Friday, September 18, 2009. He was born July 6, 1930, in West Bend, IA, to Immanuel and Leona Kitzmann. Gene served in the Navy from 1949 to 1953.

He is survived by his wife, Irene; son, Matthew Kitzmann (Debra) of Backus; sister, Natalie Kleckner (Dean) of Des Moines, IA; brothers: Leonard Kitzmann (Beverly) of Davenport, IA, Roy Kitzmann (Joyce) of OR, Harold Kitzmann (Betty) of Fishersville, VA; grandchildren: Joshua Kitzmann (Sara), Jacob (Brittney) Kitzmann; great grandchildren, Grace and Isabella Kitzmann.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Thomas, son, Michael, and brother-in-law, Julius Kiefer, Jr.

Services will be 4 pm on Monday, September 21, at Lakeside Baptist Church in Backus, with Pastor Jeff Broom officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Backus. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
