Etta Mae Heuberger, age 95, of Pequot Lakes, MN, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Edgewood Vista in Brainerd, MN. She was born August 27, 1922 in Sheffield, IA, to Ray and Mary (Emhoff) Knapp. She married Charles Jacob Heuberger on June 13, 1943 at the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Sheffield. Prior to her marriage to Charles, Etta taught in country schools in rural Sheffield. After her marriage, she enjoyed living on the family farm and when Charles had to leave the farm for health reasons, she worked a variety of retail jobs to help out. She retired after several years of employment at Opportunity Village in Clear Lake. Etta Mae was active in church serving as a Sunday School and Vacation Bible School teacher along with involvement in ladies groups and mission circles. She was always an encourager and supportive of her children and grandchildren and daily prayed for each family member by name. Etta Mae enjoyed entertaining her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Etta Mae and Charles loved their years living in Pequot Lakes until 2013 when she moved to Edgewood Vista in Brainerd, MN. Etta Mae will always be remembered as one who dearly loved and served her family and others.
Etta Mae is survived by her children: Michael Heuberger (Marietta) of Cottonwood, MN, Diana O'Keeffe (Paul) of Santa Barbara, CA, Charles Heuberger of Pequot Lakes, MN; grandchildren: Matthew Heuberger (Patricia) of Plymouth, MN, Melissa Loe (David) of Hanley Falls, MN, Mark Heuberger (Erin) of Cottonwood, MN, Amy Heuberger of Falcon Heights, MN; great grandchildren: Ashley, Isaac, Andrew and Aaron Loe and Brady, Regan, Toree and Megan Heuberger. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles; and infant son, Timothy.
Memorials are preferred to St Croix Hospice and Edgewood Vista.
Services will be 11 AM on Thursday, February 22, at Kline Funeral Home, Pequot Lakes, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. An additional service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, February 24 at First Grace Baptist Church, Sheffield, IA. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Wayside Cemetery, Chapin, IA.
