Betty Pollock

Nov 14, 1930 — Jun 10, 2026

Holdingford

Betty “Elizabeth” Mary Pollock, age 95, of Opole, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2026.

Betty was born on November 14, 1930, in Bowlus, Minnesota, to Peter and Sophie (Kampa) Lampert. She attended St. Francis High School in Little Falls and graduated in 1949. She continued her education at St. Cloud State College, earning her teaching degree in 1951.

On Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 1953, Betty married the love of her life, LeRoy Pollock. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, education, music, and service to their community.

Education was Betty’s lifelong calling. She taught in the Bowlus, Opole, St. Wendel, and District 12 country schools before joining the Holdingford School District, where she retired after a distinguished career. Altogether, Betty devoted more than 40 years to teaching and inspiring generations of students.

Faith was the cornerstone of Betty’s life. She taught Religious Education in Opole, was a devoted member of the Christian Mothers, and faithfully prayed the Rosary every day. Music was another great passion. As a young girl of four years old, she began singing in the church choir with her mother as the organist in Bowlus and later as an adult in Opole choir, a ministry, she continued for more than 83 years. Her love of music filled her home, and she encouraged all her children to learn to sing and learn to play musical instruments.

Betty found joy in many simple pleasures. She enjoyed playing cards, took great pride in her beautiful home and yard, and was known for her elegant sense of style and love of fashion. She treasured her winters in Arizona with LeRoy and friends. Betty will be remembered for her grace, strong faith, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Sophie Lampert; son, Melvin Pollock; daughter, Judy Bialka; grandson, Ross Bialka; and other relatives and friends.

Betty is survived by her husband of 72 years, LeRoy Pollock; children, Charlene Swedziak, Nancy (Robert) Plante, and Scott (Karen) Pollock; grandchildren, Sarah Bialka, Mikayla Waier (Matt), Kyle (Michelle) Swedziak, Brandon Plante, Travis Swedziak, and Samantha Warga (James); 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Regina Lauermann (Wayne); in-laws, James Posch and Elayne Pollock and many other relatives and friends who were blessed by her love, wisdom, and example.

Betty's legacy lives on through the countless students she taught, the faith she shared, the music she sang, and the family she cherished. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
