Elizabeth 'Liz' Johnson

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Elizabeth "Liz" Johnson, beloved wife to Randy, sister, friend, mother, and grandmother. Born in Wadena, MN, she spent most of her life in the Brainerd Lakes Area. Liz's vibrant spirit breathed life into her diverse interests and rich life. Her warmth, kindness, and fun-loving spirit touched the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to cross her path. Liz left this world on March 12, 2024, at the age of 70 after a long battle with Lewy body Dementia with Randy by her side.

Liz's love for adventure took her and Randy to various corners of the world though she found solace and joy in their homes on Gull Lake in Nisswa, MN and Bonita Springs, Florida. In addition to her varied interests, Liz had a deep love for reading and an innate talent for decorating. These places were sanctuaries where she entertained friends and embraced the tranquility of open waters and the beauty of golf courses as an avid boater, sailor, and golfer. Social by nature, Liz spent much of her time with friends and family, cherishing the bonds she built. Liz's successful career in the rental industry and real estate was just one facet of her vibrant life.

She leaves behind her loving husband, Randy Johnson, along with her children, Krista (Joe) Langehaug, Jeremy (Melody) Johnson, Kelly (Molly) Johnson and five grandchildren, Eva, Magnus, Solomon, Josie, and Sophia. Liz is preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Hedwig Newman, and her brother, Robert.

As we bid farewell to Liz, let us carry forward her dedication to the joy of dance, the spirit of adventure, and the warmth of social connections that fueled her love for life. Though she may be gone, her legacy will forever inspire us to always remember that its 5 o’clock somewhere.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Sunday, March 17, 2024, at the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN. Friends and family are invited to gather one hour prior to the service for a visitation. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel of Baxter.
